Aluminum oxide offers a high protective effect with a low basis weight. The advantage of this material is its very high hardness with lower density, as compared with steel. Thus, the use of ceramics provides for a marked cost-saving in the basis weight of the protection module. Such a module is executed as an "Add on" or as an integrated protection.
